Retinal disorders are the root causes for many other disorders in ophthalmology. Retina is the part of the eye that senses lights and sends impulse to the brain. Retinal disorders damages this vital tissue. This can affect vision and some can be serious enough to cause blindness. Retinal detachment is a medical emergency, where the retina is pulled from back of the eye. AMD is a disease linked with aging that gradually eliminates central vision. Cataract is a covering of the lens in eye. The vision appears blurry in a cataract patient. Diabetic eye diseases are caused due to the rise in blood sugar level.
